Services that we supply for TEAM

Why did we decide to join TEAM as a supplier?

Having worked in the Recruitment Industry for many decades, which included building and selling her own independent Recruitment Agency, Julia has a deep understanding of running a busy agency.  From dealing with the ever-changing legislation to temps failing to turn up for an assignment and permanent offers being rejected due to counter offers.  With the cost of living crisis, a pandemic and the general stress of a fast-paced industry, cracks can soon appear in a thriving business.    Julia joined TEAM to offer services that are related to well-being for both business owners and staff as well as to promote good mental health practices within the team.

Julia’s main objective is to promote SHOUT, which is a charity close to Julia’s heart as this charity saved her daughter’s life.  #MentalHealthMatters

A. Rattlesnakes & Scorpions, A Solo Female Traveller hikes the Californian Desert (PCT)

In April 2023 I flew out to California where I started the biggest challenge of my life. The Pacific Crest Trail is 2,650 miles long (4,265 kilometres. It starts at the Mexican border in California and ends in Canada. If you have seen the film “Wild” with Reece Witherspoon then you will know which challenge I am talking about. The first section from Campo to Kennedy Meadows will take approximately 2-3 months of walking where the weather ranges from 44 °C in the desert to battling through the snow in temperatures under -6 °C. I slept in my tent in the wilderness for the larger part of the journey.  Of all the things to be scared of, bears and mountain lions were the least of my worries. Lightning strikes and wild snow storms had me running for cover; rattlesnakes make frequent appearances and heat exhaustion is not fun!

B – The Morning Miracle – How to establish a fabulous morning routine.

You hear it everywhere: successful people wake up early. Richard Branson, The Rock, even Steven King all have a set morning routine which involves waking up early.   Who doesn’t want to be successful?  This 45-minute talk will walk you through the benefits of waking up early and will give you tools to overcome obstacles along the way. Let me be straight with you: waking up at 5 AM takes effort and discipline, even with purpose. It won’t magically change your life overnight and turn you into a super-human. But it will make a difference, progressively. Small habits compound and that’s how you change for the better and make a difference.

C.    Life lessons learned from a hike across Spain

Locally known entrepreneur, Julia Doherty was sitting on a plane with her finger hovering over the delete button for the iPhone email app. She was about to walk over 500 miles across Spain on the Camino De Santiago trail for five weeks, whilst enduring a digital detox. Little did she know that this inspirational journey was about to change her life forever! In this inspirational talk, Julia will share the many lessons learned from this incredible journey. Some of the stories will make you laugh, others may fill you with emotion and some will simply make you cringe. Julia is a renowned speaker and her talks are from the heart as she shares the many situations that she found herself in when you only have two sets of clothes and a few mountains to climb!

D. Effective Time Management Skills for a Better Quality of Life.

Imagine a life where deadlines are met with ease, priorities are crystal clear, and you have the time and energy for what truly matters. It’s not a fantasy – it’s the result of mindful time management. In this 45 min talk we explore some practical strategies to make this vision a reality.

E.    A Female Solo Hike Along the West Highland Way! Local walking club owner shares her wild camping journey along the epic trail of the West Highland Way in Scotland.  The 96 miles starts just north of Glasgow and ends at the foot of the tallest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis.  What was it like as a solo female walking this iconic trail with everything she needed on her back?  Coping with midges, enjoying yoga lessons in the vast Ranoch Moors, thunderstorms and Highland Cows…  this Scottish tale is full of amusing stories and a real adventure.

F. 10 reasons why journaling is good for your mental health and wellbeing

Let’s delve into the wonderful world of journaling and explore the profound impact it can have on our mental health and overall well-being. Grab a pen, and a notebook, and join me on this journey as we uncover the ten compelling reasons why journaling is a powerful tool for cultivating a healthier mind and a more fulfilling life.

G.    You don’t have to climb Everest to have an adventure.  A microadventure is an adventure that is short, simple, local, and cheap – yet still fun, exciting, challenging, refreshing and rewarding. Whether you are sleeping in a church (champing), or hunting for noses in London, life is there for living!  In this talk, Julia will share with you some simple, cost-effective ways to have micro-adventures of your own.

H. Rethinking your office environment.

The physical environment can have a huge impact on stress levels, physical health, and interactions with others, which all factor into how engaged and loyal employees feel. Despite employees working from home more, the office still has a role to play in wellbeing. An office that supports good well-being might include Bright, open spaces with plenty of natural light and greenery to encourage productivity and relieve stress. Workspaces designed with specific tasks in mind such as private booths for deep work, cosy spots for conversations, and more formal meeting rooms. Wellbeing perks that promote a positive lifestyle such as healthy snacks and meals, lunchtime running clubs, or subsidised gym passes.

I.    Walking for a healthy body and mental well-being.  A good walk is not just about the occasional one-off feel-good factor. Being active has a whole range of benefits when it comes to both physical and mental well-being. Julia will share with you her challenges and explain how the simple act of walking at least 30 minutes a day can create calm, clarity and space for new ideas to form.  She will also share a few stories from members of her walking club who have suffered from mental health issues and are now seeing the benefits of this activity.

Managing a company activity leaderboard

We have been running an activity leaderboard for the last few years and it is amazing how competitive people get in a healthy way.  The leaderboard is easy to manage and connects with wearable tracking devices and apps to power community fitness challenges and reinvent workplace wellness. It doesn’t matter which tracker you have (Garmin, Fitbit, a basic pedometer or just a smartphone), the system simply converts activities such as running, walking, swimming, cycling, gym activity etc into points – points mean prizes!

We will create your Company leaderboard for you to help co-workers move more and connect more with each other, or you can experiment yourself by visiting Count. It

You can run competitions and put people into teams. Ie: Temps desk vs Perms desk.  Staff vs Management, divisions or simply have an individual competition each month.

    What does it cost?

You can register your company for free and set up your own leaderboard here. But if you would rather us create it for you then the set-up charge is a one-off fee of £50 (includes branding, and creating your initial competitions.  There is a very basic free version, but if you would like to implement competitions and prizes then the price is approx £25 a month.  (Payable directly to Count.It).

    Goals & Challenges

Set achievable goals, but inspiring — for individuals, internal teams, or the whole group.

    Push Button Rewards

Sweeten the pot! The leaderboard fully automates the delivery of gift cards from Amazon etc; or you can create your own prizes with a few clicks.

    Internal Teams

One for all, and all for one! Finally, the long-simmering rivalry between marketing and engineering can be resolved. Safely.
