A weekend adventure in the Lake District, exploring the world of Beatrix Potter and seeing some amazing scenery along the way.
About this event
Day 1 – Saturday 22nd June (Beatrix Potter Trail)
Join us for an approximate 10 mile walk starting from Bowness on Windermere
This route takes in great views on a clear day. Starting in the village of Bowness on Windemere, the trail makes its way through the town and to the ferry terminal. We will hop on the ferry and cross over to rejoin the trail. This then winds its way up into the woods and climbs the summits with sights over the lake and surrounding fells before returning to the ferry crossing and the start of the trail. Take care along the road sections of this route as well as the rougher terrain among the trees and up the hills.
Day 2 – Sunday 23rd June (Windermere Lake and Queen Adelaide’s Hill Circular)
A shorter 6 mile walk which is very different to yesterday’s trail.
Discover the small and charming village of Windermere situated in the Lake District and it’s scenic landscape on this tour of the town. This is a moderate trail that takes you around the best spots in town with a view of the lake. On the way, you can also visit some of the local cafes, bars and museums as well as a chance to spot wildlife along the lake and in the wooded sections. This includes starting at the lake cruise dock, passing the steam boat museum, and winding through the village streets.
GET OUTSIDE AND GET INSPIRED, GO TAKE A HIKE!
