Thanks to Kriss Saunders from Arc Adventures for yet another fabulous mini guest blog.
The United Kingdom offers so much more than we will ever know. It is amazing that when something is right on your doorstep, you often find you don’t take advantage of it! I live just outside Malvern myself and have the beautiful hills to take advantage of whenever I want, but I will admit, there are sometimes months that have gone by and I haven’t taken a step up the Malvern’s! I am conscious to take full advantage of what is easily accessible to us as well as the wonders every stretch of the earth has to offer.
Here are five quirky ideas you can do in the UK:
1: The Generals Hideout Retreat: This unique mixture of real-life military equipment including; an army safari tent, tipi and a bomb shelter bathroom combine to create this wonderful themed woodland hideaway. The beautifully secluded site sits high on the hillside with breath taking views of the Herefordshire countryside and offers a whole range of brilliantly themed army zones.
2: Speyside Whisky Trail: This tour takes you to Speyside, home of over half of Scotland’s malt whiskey distilleries. You get the chance to explore four distilleries, learn how whiskey is intertwined with Scottish culture, and venture through the beautiful Cairngorms National Park.
3: Coasteering in Cornwall: Get hands on with Cornwall’s rugged coast, swimming, cliff-diving and scrambling on an eco-coasteering experience where you will be shown the very best routes by expert local guides. Cornwall’s coast is perfect for a coasteering adventure. Cliffs, pools, arches and stacks challenge you to deep water jumps, to traverse along the water’s edge, take on rock climbing, explore whirlpools, gullies and caves and really get the adrenaline pumping.
4: Yoga, Surf & Wild Camping Weekend: Get out the house and into the woods with your family or friends for a night of wild camping packed with loads of fun with yoga and surf, the perfect workout combination!
5: Iconic Campervan Adventure: Experience the sensation of true freedom on the open road on this adventure entirely of your own choosing in an iconic VW campervan. Whether you take the camper van for a few nights to explore the stunning scenery of the Lake District, or you decide to go a bit further afield, this is one adventure that will live long in the memory.
See you next week.
