When on a backpacking trip there is nothing better than brewing fresh coffee and watching the sun rise from the comfort of your tent. For me, there is a fine line between good tasting coffee and convenience. I have tried the Jetboil coffee press and other filters that are made for backpackers, but it is just a pain to clean up.
I then stumbled upon something completely unique whilst surfing on Amazon (as I tend to do!). These new “brew in the bag” coffee filters from “Coffee Brew’ is pure genius. It involves a revolutionary brewing system that combines pour-over filter coffee and French press technology. They are lightweight, easy to use, mess-free and above all else, they taste absolutely gorgeous!
My daughter Rachel joined me on a recent “local” hike and we set up to have a brew half way through the walk. See the results yourself in the video below.
Summary
If coffee is important to you on your backpacking trips then give Coffee Brewer a try. I purchased mine on Amazon for £5.95 for six cups, but it appears that they are no longer available on Amazon. You can purchase then direct from the supplier (here) – or many other places sell them online – just google Travel Coffee, Coffee Brewers.
