ABOUT THE WALK – grade:  Moderate Route

We have two groups tonight.  The fast group will be walking approximately 5 miles, and the regular paced group will be walking around 3 miles.  Both groups will enjoy a well-kept footpaths and bridleways and we will enjoy walking along the John Mawby Trail (aka the disused railway track).  Due to the nature of both walks, we must insist that everyone brings a torch along for added safety (rabbit holes, upturned roots etc).

Your furry friends are welcome to join us as there are no stiles or livestock on the route.  We will be greeted by Russ & Jane at The George Inn for a cheeky pint and perhaps something to eat.  Dogs are welcome in the pub as well.

  • A good torch (no head torches please as they tend to blind people!)
  • Good trainers or walking shoes (and other clothes of course!).
  • Hi-vis vests are now back.  Please make sure you have a reflective jacket /vest/armband (essential on all winter hikes).  If you don't have one, then we have plenty of spares that you can borrow for the evening.
  • A drink and snacks.
