Here you will find all the events for The AG Walking Club.

You can toggle between list mode, month mode or day mode.  All of our walks are uploaded to the website around 25th of each month.  We have a range of events to suit all abilities. In addition to the regular walks, we also have specialised events for faster walkers, slower walkers and early risers!

Meet at the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village Car Park – (Note, please arrive by 9.45am, we will set off at 10 am sharp. 

ABOUT THE WALK – grade: moderate

This walk is just short of 4 miles and encompasses some road walking as well as the canal towpath. It may be muddy if the weather has been unkind to us so please bring along sensible footwear.


  • Good walking shoes or wellies (and other clothes of course!), it may be muddy if the weather is bad.

  • It's nearly 4 miles, so please bring a bottle of water

  • Money for tea and cake and perhaps a bit of shopping!


Whilst offering all the charm of a traditional Tea Room, Darlington’s extends beyond this with a superbly appointed menu offering top quality, freshly prepared food throughout the day.

From Tea-time favourites of Toasted Teacakes, Scones and Cream Tea to a wonderful selection of mouth-watering cakes, on display in the Cake Cabinet, Darlington’s is a popular venue at Heart of the Shires with it’s spacious inside area often extending out into the rear garden or courtyard area during the better weather.

The Heart of the Shires is a Northamptonshire shopping village that offers shopping without the stress. Open seven days a week from 10 is until 5 pm. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No. Just bring yourself and then tell the organisers your name when you arrive. We will then check you in.

Walking is a physically active sport. If you have any doubts about your abilities, you should always seek advice from your GP before embarking on an Adventure Geek walk.

By registering for an event you accept that you do so entirely at your own risk and that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and able to take part in the event. We regroup often and our walks cater for all levels of fitness.

Children under the age of 16 years old are the responsibility of their parents or guardians and need to be accompanied at all times before, during and after the walk.

Adventure Geek volunteers do not accept responsibility for injury, loss and damage sustained by a participant unless the above injury, loss and damage are proven to have been caused as a direct result of negligence on the part of the organisers.

Dogs are welcome on the majority of our walks, however, we kindly ask that only one dog per walker and that the welfare of the animal remains your responsibility throughout your walk.  On occasion, we may add a note of “No dogs allowed” on specific walks (usually those with cattle), please respect this note.
