HEART OF THE SHIRES | NORTHANTS WALK | 3.92 MILES | MODERATE ROUTE

January 24 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm UTC

Free

WALK LEADERS: Julia & Rachel.

MEETING PLACE:

Meet at the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village Car Park – (Note, please arrive by 6.15pm, we will set off at 6.30pm).

ABOUT THE WALK – grade: moderate

This is a fairly easy walk although there is a long hill that may get the heart racing a bit!  We set off from the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village Car Park, and turn left towards the canal.  We cross three modes of transport – the Grand Union Canal, The M1 and the A5, but this is probably one of the most beautiful walks that we organise due to the quaint village of Brockhall.  If you have never walked through Brockhall then you are missing a real treat.  The cottages are like something out of a postcard with the thatch on the roof, and the little church sits proudly in the centre.  At this time of year, I guarantee that we will smell the wood-burning stoves, before heading along the canal where we will stop for sweets.

If we have more than 25 booked onto this walk we will split the group into two (fast and regular paced). You can decide on the night, depending on your mood :-).

ROUND ROBIN QUESTION:

Who is the funniest person in the world right now?  Do you have a favourite comedian?

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

  • A torch is essential on this walk (please try to avoid headtorches if possible).
  • Good trainers or walking shoes (and other clothes of course!), it may be muddy if the weather is bad.
  • It's just under 4 miles, so please bring a bottle of water
  • See you there!
