If you have ever dreamed of walking the entire length of Hadrian's Wall, then this is your chance!

Have you ever dreamed of walking Hadrian's Wall?

Now’s your chance to do it for Willen Hospice.

Stretching 84 miles, from the North to the Irish Sea, this historic trail takes you back in time to the Roman Empire. Constructed in AD122, Hadrian’s Wall was built to guard the wild, northern frontier, with miles of barracks, ramparts and forts. The wall has stood the test of time and is now one of the most popular walking challenges in the UK – it even has it’s own passport to collect stamps along the way!

This challenge is COVID-19 secure, and you’ll be walking in a small group.

Walk across a whole country from Newcastle to Carlisle in just one week, whilst raising money for this worthwhile cause.

The Discovery Night / free online event Includes:

  • The history of Hadrian's Wall
  • Details of the hike
  • Accommodation
  • Your Hadrian's Wall Passport
  • Luggage transfer
  • As well as some pratical advice such as blister management, the scenery, points of interest along the route, what to carry, water management and lots more.

See you there!

  • You’ll be guided by walking expert, Julia Doherty from The Adventure Geek, so you can focus more on the views, and less on the maps.
  • Tick off a bucket list item, and enjoy some of the most incredible landscapes in Northern England.
  • Learn about our history under the Roman Empire, passing what is left of settlements, forts, and of course, Hadrian’s Wall itself.
  • Raise money for a fantastic cause. You may find some days on this challenge difficult, but it’s nothing compared to what our patients are facing. Without our free, compassionate care, they would have to face that alone, but with your help we can be there for everyone who needs us. Dawn Clark, Challenges Fundraiser, will be on hand at all times to help you with your fundraising.
