ENCHANTED YORKSHIRE WEEKEND

£75.00

Sat 13th & Sun 14th July 2024

This is a wonderful two-day weekend adventure in Yorkshire. We have so much to see on the whole weekend so it should be a good one!

Day 1 – 11 miles Simon’s Seat and Valley of Desolation

This is a gorgeous circular route in the Yorkshire Dales National Park that visits Bolton Abbey, The Valley of Desolation, Simon’s Seat, and Barden Bridge with lovely views and scenic paths. There is a wonderful mix of sights including historic buildings, waterfalls, forest, and rolling hills as you make your way from the car park (fee required), climb up beside Sheepshaw Beck to Simon’s Seat, drop steeply down to Howgill, and return to the start along the River Wharfe. (Details to be provided after the risk assessment has been completed).

Day 2 – 7.25 miles – MOTHER SHIPTON’S CAVE TRAIL AT KNARESBOROUGH

This is a lovely circular walk from Knaresborough, close to Harrogate in North Yorkshire. The Nidd Gorge is stunning and a magnet for walkers, while the pretty market town of Knaresborough has many dog-friendly places to pop in to for refreshments when we have finished. The route is mostly on grassy paths, tarmac lanes, and cycle tracks, but also includes some steep descents and climbs by the river, which may be very boggy and muddy after wet weather. Appropriate footwear is required. You will need to negotiate several flights of stone staircases and several stiles. There are public toilets at the car park in Knaresborough.

After the walk, we will visit Mother Shipton’s Cave. The ticket price of the walk does not include entry to the attraction.

GET OUTSIDE AND GET INSPIRED, LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE.
